You may remember a few months back we asked for input from Cub Scouts on a topic that we were doing on how to celebrate the Centenary of Cub Scouts.
We asked for Cub leaders and parents to help their Cubs complete a short activity sheet with ideas on how to celebrate it and hoped that, despite the time of year – the summer holidays, as the National meeting for which the report was to be written being in late Feb – we would still get input from a couple of Packs.
Being the first time we tried this method – we’ve never before collected responses from so many Cubs across Australia – we had no idea what to expect. Well, to our great pleasure, we received responses from almost 200 Cubs across 16 Packs! We had some brilliant responses ranging from trips to England to discos and a national Cuboree.
It was great to see the range of ideas we received and some wonderful feedback from Leaders, who too were impressed at their Cubs’ suggestions.
*In line with best practice, we have not included here the appendix that includes scans of all the Cubs’ actual submissions. This is because we have not asked the Cubs for permission to do so. The appendix was listed in the original document however as it has been provided to the National team, for whom the report was intended. Some other appendices are not included as they are not ours to share; send us an email if you would like us to put you in touch with the owner of these documents.
